Let's see what actually happens.
A tote arrives at the port with an order line in it. Eight seconds later the item is in the shipping carton. This is what fills those eight seconds.
Scroll to follow the pickThe picker works at your AutoStore port or goods-to-person station. It recognises what is in the tote, checks each item against the order and packs it.
The scene on the right is the digital twin of the cell. Scroll, and it walks you through a single pick exactly as the robot performs it, camera by camera.

Scroll to follow the pickThe source camera above the bin takes a picture. The detection model outlines every item it can see, including ones it has never been trained on.
Items that do not match the order line drop out. On the best remaining candidate the planner marks the grasp point: flat, centred and clear of its neighbours.
The arm descends, seals the suction cup on the grasp point and lifts the item clear of the bin. Then it carries it to the scanning pose.
Weight, dimensions and barcode are checked against the order line while the gripper turns the item past the scanner. A mismatch goes back to the bin, never into the carton.
The item is lowered into the shipping carton and set down at its planned spot, so the carton fills evenly and nothing is dropped from height.
The carton rolls off towards closing and labelling. The next carton is already on its way in, and the next bin is rising in the port.
That was one pick. The cell repeats it all shift long.Send us a list of what you pick today and where the tote comes from. An engineer replies with what the cell would do with that flow and where it would stand.
